ATTORNEYS
Kadian Townsend
Managing Attorney
Kadian is a New York State Lawyer and Managing Attorney of the Townsend Law Firm. She was recently named one of the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2026) and the Washington Bar Association’s Power 100 Young Lawyers. Her practice focuses primarily on Transactional Law and Sports and Entertainment Law. She advises on business formation and structuring, partnership agreements, negotiating commercial deals, and estate planning. She also has experience in litigation involving complex professional liability insurance disputes and common law matters, including Breach of Contract and Breach of Fiduciary Duty claims. She has advised publicly traded companies, entrepreneurs, musicians for grammy-award winning artists, content creators and social media influencers, and small business owners. Kadian serves as Vice Chair of the Sports & Entertainment Committee at the Nassau County Bar Association. She is a graduate of the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law, where she served in the Tax Clinic and represented low-income individuals facing IRS and District of Columbia tax controversies. She also served in the Civil Rights/Legislation Clinic where she advised non-profit organizations on employment discrimination issues and assisted in drafting proposed revisions to D.C. Human Rights Act. Kadian is the Co-Founder of The Townsend Family Foundation, which supports education and healthcare initiatives in the U.S. and Jamaica. The organization has made significant contributions to Uniondale High School since 2016 and most recently, to the Jamaica Cancer Society. Kadian is a member of the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council in partnership with Jamaica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
Gaëlle Bastien
Of Counsel
Gaëlle is a Washington D.C. lawyer and a Maryland native. With expertise in real estate, corporate and business compliance, estate planning, immigration, and clemency, she brings a well-rounded legal perspective to the firm. A David A. Clarke School of Law graduate, she is passionate about advocating for clients across various legal areas. Before joining the firm, she worked for the federal government at The Office of the Pardon Attorney, where she assisted in drafting a favorable recommendation for Ricky Donnell Tyler, who was granted a pardon by President Biden on April 24, 2024. She also spent time at the District of Columbia Housing Authority, primarily involved in hearings and transactional work, gaining invaluable experience in public service and housing policy. She is a member of the D.C. Bar Association. Outside of her legal practice, Gaëlle has had a varied career, working as a paralegal before law school, as an au pair in the South of France, in retail, as a waitress for a catering company, and as a campaign intern for multiple local Maryland campaigns. In addition, she speaks Haitian Creole, French, and a little Spanish. She enjoys traveling, staying active through regular workouts, and exploring the world of art by attending museums and galleries. She unwinds by watching non-legal TV dramas when she's not immersed in her legal work or hobbies. She lives in the suburbs of Maryland with her family and two Labradoodles.
Miracle Onuoha
Law Clerk
Miracle Onuoha is a native New Yorker and recent graduate of Cleveland State University College of Law. She has a background in Sports & Entertainment Law, having previously served as a Legal Assistant for the Cleveland Cavaliers and as an Intellectual Property Legal Intern at American Greetings. In addition, she previously served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge J. Philip Calabrese in the United States District Court of Northern Ohio where she assisted with both the civil and criminal dockets. Her experience in criminal law was further developed through her role as a Legal Clerk at LegalWorks, where she assisted in representing individuals from underserved communities in the sealing and expungement of their criminal records. Miracle thrives at the intersection of law, policy, and community impact, helping organizations navigate complex challenges while making a meaningful difference. She serves as a director for Anointed Girl’s Project, an organization focused on mentoring and empowering young women. She is also currently a member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
